About us
My Husband and I met at Auburn, where we got our degrees in Horticulture. I caught his infectious passion for farming and we have since enjoyed many seasons together exploring unique heirlooms, fine tuning the art of seed saving, and arguing over the perfect tomato variety for tomato sandwiches. We are both nature nuts, who enjoy hiking and paddling with our two boys. We are followers of Christ, and find no greater joy than showing our children the evidences of God all around us in nature!
This farm started as an out of control hobby. Let's just say we accidentally grew 1,000 lbs of winter squash for ourselves one year...When we moved back home to Alabama with two little ones, things changed a little and Andrew became tied down to a stressful job, dreaming about his passion- farming- which he no longer had time for. My sweet husband would work all day, and then come home and fill notebook after notebook for hours at a time, scheming about planting dates, and crop schedules. I thought maybe I could at least contribute to his happiness and get some things growing for him to come home to, maybe even grow a little business that he could one day join me in running...but I had NO IDEA what I was getting myself in to! Little did I know that in just a few months our garden would turn into a rapidly growing farm that was too much for me to handle by myself with a baby on my back and a baby at my heels. Well, the good Lord heard my prayers for help. To our dismay, our long term goals came to fruition the first year, and Andrew was led to quit his job and join me farming full time! It has been an amazing whirlwind of a journey this first year, and we absolutely could not have done it without help from grandparents and good friends who helped us get our feet on the ground. We'll see where God leads us a year from now, but it seems this is where he wants us at the moment, because he has guided our hands in more ways than we are able to list!
